Role Overview
BnM has a large landbank and a diverse portfolio of projects in its development pipeline, including onshore wind, solar, energy storage, thermal generation and emerging technologies designed to address the evolving needs of the energy system.
As a Policy and Regulation Graduate, you will support the policy and regulation team in providing policy analysis and advice on the regulatory and legislative framework for the Irish energy market, in support of BnM’s strategic objectives. You will gain in-depth knowledge of business operations by supporting the administration of the risk management process for operations and commercial development.
Key Responsibilities
- Project development support: support the Policy and Regulation team in delivering regulatory services to the commercial, development and operations teams to support the commercialisation and operation of the renewable energy portfolio.
- Horizon scanning and market analysis: research policy issues and identify energy trends, keeping abreast of policy developments and best practice within the energy industry in Ireland and internationally.
- Policy development: support the development of responses to regulatory and policy consultations, liaising with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure they are reflected in consultation responses.
- Risk management: support the business unit risk champion to develop documentation in compliance with risk policy, and contribute to materials for risk governance meetings.
- Stakeholder management: build and maintain strong relationships with internal colleagues and work closely with cross-functional teams, including planning, trading and development, to align commercial strategies with business objectives.
- All employees are expected to co-operate fully with the company’s provisions for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises, and to participate proactively in the Performance Management process.
What We’re Looking For
- Third-level degree (minimum 2:1) in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with familiarity with data analysis or visualisation tools an advantage
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-management skills and a self-starter attitude, open to new challenges
