The Office of the Attorney General (the Office) is legal adviser to the Government and advises on constitutional and/or legal issues which arise prior to or at Government meetings, or which impact the work of Government or Government Departments, including whether proposed legislation complies with the provisions of the Constitution, acts and treaties of the European Union, the European Convention on Human Rights or other international treaties to which Ireland has acceded.

The Office is now recruiting for a suitably qualified and committed individual to take up the role of Research and Training Librarian in its Library and Research Service.

Reporting to the Legal Information Manager, the Research and Training Librarian will be responsible for the provision and continued development of a high-quality information and research service. They will also be responsible for planning and managing the continued development, delivery and evaluation of legal information skills training programmes and support materials to the Office’s legal staff and Seconded Advisory Counsel.
