Sales & Marketing Trainee / Sales & Marketing Administrator

Location: ROCO9 Concession Road (A37 / N53) – half way between
Castleblayney & Dundalk

Employment Type: Full-time (maternity cover with potential for
permanent/long-term progression)

Reports to: Managing Director (with support from Operations Manager and
Finance Manager)

 

Role Summary:

Join a fast-moving, family-run capital-equipment business as a Sales
& Marketing Trainee/Administrator. This hands-on role combines marketing
support, lead management and business development activities with dealers &
customers-facing exposure to quarry, demolition and recycling sectors. The
position is designed as a trainee/graduate pathway to develop into a commercial
sales role with clear progression opportunities (field visits, dealer
engagement, potential international deployment in the future).

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead & enquiry management: monitor email/website leads,
respond/qualify, and follow up promptly.

- Customer relationship support: schedule calls/visits, coordinate
demos, assist with quotations and negotiations escalation.

- Marketing support: produce and maintain sales literature, flyers,
product sheets, and glossy video/content briefs in collaboration with creative
resource (prepare briefs, source assets).

- Campaign & digital support: assist with paid digital campaigns,
track performance, and ensure leads from campaigns are captured and acted upon.

- Event & exhibition coordination: organise logistics, suppliers,
budgets and on-site setup/teardown for trade shows and demos.

- Field exposure: attend site demonstrations, product trials and
customer visits to learn product and market needs.

- Cross-function collaboration: rotate through engineering, assembly and
service to build product knowledge.

- Administrative tasks: maintain CRM records, prepare sales reports,
manage basic procurement for marketing needs.

- Continuous learning: engage in structured training modules and weekly
reviews with the MD and operations team.

 

Example of Trainee Program / Progression Structure:

- 0–3 months: induction and product immersion (factory, service,
quarries), CRM and admin tasks, shadowing MD on sales calls / potential site
visits / daily sales activities

- 3–12 months: increasing ownership of lead qualification, preparing
sales materials, supporting demos and small customer negotiations.

- 12–36 months: field sales accompaniment, responsibility for defined
territory/customers, possibility of international short-term assignments and
progression to Sales Executive role if desired

- Mentoring: regular one-to-one with MD and monthly reviews; rotation
across engineering, operations and service for technical grounding.

 

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

- Graduate or equivalent (engineering, business, transport or related
desirable) or strong practical background (agriculture/quarry/machinery) with
commercial aptitude.

- Strong communication and organisational skills.

- Positive, proactive, hands-on attitude; willingness to flexible work
around exhibitions work when required.

- Comfortable with fieldwork and practical machinery environments.

- Medium to strong computer skills and willingness to assist and learn
CRM, digital tools and marketing platforms.

 

Desirable:

- Interest/experience in engineering, transport, agriculture, quarry or
machinery sectors.

- Some exposure to marketing, content creation or digital campaigns.

- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly (local &
occasional longer trips).

 

 

Personal Attributes:

- Eager to learn, resilient, able to work in a fast-paced small-team
environment.

- Negotiation mindset and commercial curiosity.

- Team player with ability to work autonomously when required.

 

Working Conditions & Other Details:

- Based at company office (on-site) with regular field visits and some
exhibition & field travel.

- Full-time; preference for local residence (<=30 minutes).

- Salary: competitive for trainee/graduate level; Full guidance &
training will be given to assist performance-related progression

- Standard 40 hour work week with ? day Friday
