Social Care Assistant/Social Care Worker

Lotus Care provides a range of respite, residential and support services to Children & Adults with intellectual disabilities in a homely and comfortable community setting. We aim to empower people with the necessary skills to live full and satisfying lives as equal citizens of their local communities. 

Lotus Care is currently recruiting for an experienced Healthcare Assistant.

 

Position Details

  • Employer: Lotus Care
  • Position: Healthcare Assistant
  • Location: Houses in Tullamore, Athlone, Roscommon, Co. Kildare, Co. Laois
  • Hours: Average of 42 hours per week (12 hour shifts, days & nights, 3/4 rotation)
  • Salary: €35,000 - €50,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to service owners.
  • Assist service owners with personal care, hygiene, feeding, and daily living activities.
  • Support the emotional, social, and physical wellbeing of service owners.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment in line with health and safety standards and individual care plans.
  • Promote and advocate for the rights, dignity, and individual needs of service owners.
  • Support participation in community and recreational activities.
  • Monitor and report safeguarding, welfare, or health concerns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Carry out additional duties as required by management.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support, Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience supporting children or adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of care and support.


This role is also suitable for Experienced Support Workers, Assistant Support Workers, Care Workers, Healthcare Workers, High Support Specialist, Senior Support Worker, Senior Care Assistant and Care Assistants!
