Job Purpose
The School of Law, in collaboration with the Careers
Service, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student to support the
development of a Canvas-based careers and employability resource for
postgraduate law students.
This role forms part of the WILLOW – Work-Integrated
Learning for Law Students project, which aims to enhance student success by
embedding career-focused supports and work-integrated learning opportunities
across postgraduate law programmes.
The successful candidate will contribute to creating a
centralised online hub offering guidance on CV writing, interview preparation,
job search strategies, and key employability skills tailored to postgraduate
law students.
Key Responsibilities
- Content
Research and Development -
- Conduct research on careers and employability
resources relevant to postgraduate law students - Identify best practices in CV writing, interview
preparation, job search strategies, and professional skills development - Review existing university-wide and external
career resources for suitability and inclusion
- Conduct research on careers and employability
- Canvas Resource Development

- Assist in structuring and organising content for
an accessible and engaging Canvas site - Draft clear, student-friendly content tailored to
the needs of diverse postgraduate cohorts - Support the development of discipline-specific
careers guidance, including both legal and non-legal career pathways

Essential:
- Current postgraduate student (preferably in Law)
- Strong research and information synthesis skills
- Excellent written communication skills with
attention to detail - Ability to work independently and manage time
effectively
Desirable:
- Interest in careers, employability, or
work-integrated learning - Familiarity with Canvas, SharePoint or other
virtual learning environments - Experience in graphic design and/or creating engaging
student-facing resources or guidance materials
Hours and Duration
- Total of 80 hours
- Work to be completed between June and August 2026
- Flexible scheduling to be agreed with the project
supervisor
