Trainee Accountant Work Placement
Job Summary
As a Trainee Accountant on placement, you will support the daily operations of the finance department. You will move beyond classroom theory to gain practical experience in accounts payable, receivable, bookkeeping, and reconciliation, supporting our team with month-end routines and compliance. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a career as an accountant.
Key Responsibilities
• Process purchase invoices to the system with accurate invoice details, dates, amounts, and tax information into accounting systems and file invoices appropriate way.
• Resolving billing discrepancies, missing invoices, or payment delays with vendors.
• Comparing monthly creditor statements against internal system ledgers to spot omissions and missing invoices.
• Performing weekly bank reconciliations and supplier statement reconciliations.
• Reconciling rental properties and dealing with rates, insurance and auxiliary tasks to do with rental accommodation.
• Manage emails, print invoices and statements daily and file them to designated places.
• Answering daily phone calls and emails.
• Collaborate with the team members in a regular basis.
Key Requirements
• Currently studying for a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• IT skills would be beneficial.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
• Strong ability to do multi task and ability to work in own initiative.
• Good time management skills.
