Trainee Financial Accountant

Main responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Operational Finance

  • Monitor and manage the
    Accounts Payable system.
  • Review supplier
    invoices for accuracy, completeness and appropriate supporting
    documentation.
  • Liaise with budget
    holders and internal stakeholders to ensure timely invoice approval and
    processing.
  • Assist in maintaining
    supplier master data and resolving supplier queries.

 

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Post payment invoices
    and payment allocations within Inforsun.
  • Prepare balance sheet
    reconciliations and investigate outstanding reconciling items.
  • Assist in the
    preparation and posting of accounting journals.
  • Support month-end and
    year-end close processes across Group entities.
  • Assist in preparing
    management accounts and supporting schedules for review by senior
    finance management.
  • Support the
    preparation of financial reports and analysis for management reporting
    purposes.
  • Assist in the
    preparation of information required for regulatory, statutory and audit
    reporting requirements.

 

Audit, Controls & Process Improvement

  • Assist with both
    internal and external audit requests.
  • Prepare supporting
    schedules and documentation for audit reviews.
  • Ensure finance
    procedures and controls are consistently followed.
  • Identify opportunities
    to improve finance processes, controls and efficiencies.
  • Contribute to finance
    transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

 

ACCA Professional Development

  • Actively pursue the
    ACCA professional qualification.
  • Maintain examination
    progression consistent with achieving ACCA membership within 3–4 years.
  • Complete ACCA Practical
    Experience Requirements (PER).
  • Apply technical
    accounting knowledge developed through ACCA studies to daily
    responsibilities.
  • Participate in both
    internal and external training and development activities.
  • Work closely with
    qualified accountants and finance leaders to develop technical,
    analytical and commercial finance skills.

 

 

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the
    Group Financial Controller and CFO on ad-hoc projects and initiatives.
  • Undertake additional
    duties and responsibilities as required by management.

Your profile

 

·        
University degree in Accounting,
Finance, Business or a related discipline. 

  • Eligible
    to commence or
    currently pursuing the ACCA qualification. 

·        
Strong academic track record and commitment
to professional development. 

  • Excellent
    attention to detail and organisational ability. 

·        
Strong Microsoft Excel skills. 

  • Ability
    to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines. 
  • Strong
    written and verbal communication skills. 

·        
Positive attitude, professionalism and willingness
to learn.
