Placements are available at a variety of U.S. hospitality properties, including hotels and resorts in locations such as Florida, Texas, Colorado, Missouri, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Maryland, and the Washington, D.C. area. Examples of host employers represented in our current placement portfolio include resort properties, luxury and full-service hotels, country clubs, and hospitality venues such as Big Cedar Lodge, Loews Hotels, Hyatt, Embassy Suites, Crowne Plaza, Ameristar Casino Resort Spa, Lake Nona Wave Hotel, and Louisville-area hotel partners.
Participants receive a personalized DS-7002 Training/Internship Placement Plan that outlines progressive learning objectives, department rotations where applicable, supervision, and skills development aligned with the participant’s academic background or professional experience. This is a cultural exchange and structured training program—not ordinary employment.
Hourly stipends vary by host employer, training department, location, and whether a role is tipped. Current listed rates range from approximately $2.75/hour plus tips for certain server positions to $21.00/hour for select front-desk and culinary trainee placements; many non-tipped hospitality opportunities are listed between approximately $14.00 and $21.00 per hour.
Housing arrangements differ by placement. Some host employers offer or refer housing options, while other placements require participants to arrange self-housing subject to LifeTRAVELED review. Certain host sites also offer employee meals, meal discounts, airport-arrival information, or transportation guidance.
Applicants should have an educational or professional background related to hospitality, tourism, culinary arts, hotel management, business, or a closely related field.
