Job title: Youth worker (Part-time- Evening)
Location: Newry Gateway Club
Hours: 6 hours per week
Tuesday: 6.30-9.30pm
Wednesday 6.30-9.30pm
Salary £14 per hour
Reports to: Club Leader in Charge
Responsible to: Management Committee
Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth worker
to support and engage individuals aged 12-75+ with learning disabilities. This role involves delivering inclusive,
enjoyable, and meaningful activities in a safe and supportive environment,
helping members develop social skills, confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
·
Assist in planning and delivery of structured
and engaging activities.
·
Support individuals with learning
disabilities to participate fully in sessions
·
Maintain a safe, inclusive and
supportive environment
·
Complete all required records and
documentation accurately and efficiently in line with Education Authority (EA).
·
Adhere to Newry & District
Gateway Club and EA policies and procedures, including Safeguarding.
Essential
Criteria
·
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Youth
Work, Health & Social Care, OCN level3)
·
Ability to work effectively with
individuals with additional needs
·
Strong organizational skills,
including completion of essential paperwork
·
Understanding of, or willingness to
work in accordance with EA policies
·
Good communication and interpersonal
skills
·
Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
·
Previous experience in Youth work,
care work or community support
·
Experience working with individuals
with learning disabilities
