*The Master of Science in Accounting offers a postgraduate route to a career in professional accounting.
* Students who successfully complete the MSc in Accounting, will graduate with full exemptions from all but the Final Admitting Examination (FAE) of Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI), and exemption from Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) Part 1 exams of the Irish Tax Institute.
* This one-year full-time programme focuses not only on the content and skills required to continue with the professional accountancy exams, but also with the development of skills and knowledge in areas of increasing importance in the profession, such as an in-depth knowledge around issues of sustainability, and data analytics.

Entry requirements
Normally applicants will possess a minimum 2:2 honours primary degree (Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland) with a significant accounting specialisation, or an honours primary degree with a minimum of three years relevant work experience. Applicants must also expect to qualify for exemption from the CA Proficiency 1 examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI). You should apply directly to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland for your CAP1. Applicants who do not meet the exemption requirement or are in receipt of a partial CAP1 exemption by mid August may only be admitted in exceptional circumstances following approval from the Course Director and the Head of Department. All applicants must satisfy the English Language Requirements of the University. The University reserves the right to shortlist and interview applicants as deemed necessary.
