Equality Diversity and Inclusion

The Graduate Certificate in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is designed for learners who wish to develop an interdisciplinary understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion and to explore strategies for change. The programme will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding needed to deal effectively with issues of equality, diversity and inclusion at all levels of Irish society, the community and the workplace. Learners will draw on academic literature and practical case studies to identify and address challenges in their personal and professional environment and will be provided with the competence to become leaders in this area in order to contribute to the development of socially inclusive spaces in the community and workplace.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have a primary degree with a first or second-class honours, (Primary degree: Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland). In exceptional circumstances, an applicant who cannot satisfy the undergraduate requirement may be accepted on the basis of relevant work experience in accordance with UL's Policy on Recognition of Prior Learning. All applicants will be required to demonstrate that they have community or workplace access needed for the completion of certain modules.

The programme adopts a blended-learning approach, which combines online lectures with on-campus workshops to allow learners to engage in distance learning.
