Organic & Biological Agriculture - Waterford
This course is designed to address specific practical and scientific skills gaps for people already working within ag / land sciences. It aims to produce graduates with the necessary organic and biological agriculture skillset to advise and engage in productive and profitable primary production and/or contribute to research and development in the sector. These programmes place a strong emphasis on the professional development of the graduate to enable them broaden their own career options.
The course aims to develop graduates who have:
• An advanced knowledge of organic and biological agricultural practices and principles.
• An ability to put core principles of biological agriculture into practice in the field.
• The capacity to proactively contribute to and design supportive policy in agroforestry and landscape biodiversity; climate adaptation and resilience; sustainable crop and livestock production; and enhanced soil and water management.
Prospective students may also wish to consider a shorter course in this area.
All of the Certificates below are ‘Minor Awards’ of the Masters in Organic and Biological Agriculture and students can sign-up for them independently.

Entry requirements
Honours bachelors degree (Level 8) in agriculture, land sciences or science or equivalent. Minimum two years relevant experience in agriculture, horticulture or forestry.
Duration
2 YEARS – BLENDED
No more than 3 days onsite at SETU per module; 12 days per academic year.
