Strategic Planning in Education - Waterford

The Certificate in Strategic Planning in Education facilitates an in-depth understanding of strategy in the context of educational institutions. The process of strategic planning and the role of strategy in determining the future direction of the institution are explored using contemporary literature and case-based examples of practice across a range of educational settings.



The formulation, development, and implementation of strategy include critical reflection on the educational institution’s vision, values, stakeholders, external environment, and existing organisational culture.

This module facilitates an in-depth understanding of strategy in the context of educational institutions. The process of strategic planning and the role of strategy in determining the future direction of the institution will be reviewed using contemporary literature and case based examples of practice across a range of educational settings. The formulation, development and implementation of strategy will include critical reflection on the educational institutions’ vision, values, stakeholders, external environment and the existing organisational culture

Entry requirements

Applicants are required to have an Honours Degree (Level 8) or equivalent and be working within an educational setting.
