At Tesco, we’re passionate about serving Ireland’s shoppers a little better every day and our colleagues are at the heart of that. A business of our scale - 13,000 colleagues and 151 stores in Ireland provides a whole host of opportunities. No two days are the same here at Tesco and this, coupled with our fast-paced and vibrant culture, creates a very rewarding environment to work in which we are really proud of.
We are also really proud that Tesco Ireland has been certified as a Great Place to Work for the second year in a row and recognised as one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces. This recognition is a testament to our culture which is created by each and every one of our colleagues.
A recurring theme when listening to people’s career stories in Tesco is people being given the opportunity to work in different areas of the business or being able to try roles that they might not have originally considered. They talk about how the opportunities they have been given have helped them to progress their career in ways they hadn’t previously imagined. Tesco’s size, scale and further operations across Europe and Asia make these opportunities possible. We give people the tools to shape their own future, with a career path that meets their own personal goals and aspirations.
We are also committed to investing in Ireland, whether that is working with thousands of farming families across Ireland to offer our customers the freshest produce, supporting our charity partner Temple Street or working with local initiatives and causes through our community agenda.
About our Graduate Programme
Within our graduate programme we have two distinct programmes:
- one dedicated to stores - https://www.tesco-programmes.com/ireland/stores-programme/
- the other located in head office - https://www.tesco-programmes.com/ireland/office-programme/
Both programmes are 18 months long and commence with an induction and in-store familiarisation before any placements commence. Learning and Development is promoted throughout each programme, which includes both on-the-job training and leadership upskilling. We’ve also made sure that graduates have an extensive support network to help them all along the way. Also as part of the programme, graduates will be involved in a business project along with fellow graduates as well as creating some content for our social media channels.
