The Team You'll Join
StepStone Private Debt (SPD) is a global private debt investor with $66B TCR as of 31/12/25. SPD covers the breadth of the private debt market and constructs bespoke portfolios on a primary, secondary, and co-investment basis. SPD focuses on two areas of the market: performing and non-performing debt across the corporate, real estate, and infrastructure sectors. SPD is a subsidiary of the StepStone Group, a global private markets firm specializing in Private Equity, Infrastructure, Private Credit, and Real Estate.
About The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Intern to join our private debt fund accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing communications, being part of the net asset value review of various funds that we manage, reviewing complex fee models as well as communicating actively with our various administrators. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, a solid grasp of financial data, and a strong desire to thrive in a dynamic, data-driven environment.
What You'll Do
Net Asset Value Reviews
- Review, validate, and interpret net asset value packages received from the administrator for accuracy and flag any issues to the senior team.
- Review fee models and be involved in understanding and reviewing various complex fee models for the various private debt funds.
Data Management
- Collect, upload, and maintain various private debt-related information in the internal database, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
Project Related Work
- Be involved in project-related work, connect between various teams, and take the lead in supporting teams on any ad hoc related tasks and projects.
Reporting and Documentation
- Generate and distribute team KPIs, team updates, and process documentation.
Mailbox Management and Task Handling
- Act as a point of contact for team communications, prioritizing and organizing emails.
What We're Looking For
- Must be able to work legally in Ireland without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Undergraduate student graduating anywhere from December 2027 through June 2028.
- Pursuing a university Degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Available to work in the Dublin office from September 2026 - August 2027.
- Interest in Private markets, particularly private debt, is an advantage.
- Strong interest in companies' balance sheets and income statements, including key metrics such as EBITDA, leverage ratios, and debt covenants.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in data validation and financial modeling. Familiarity with database tools is an advantage.
- Keen attention to detail and a structured approach to data review and management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of corporate financial performance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial concepts effectively.
- An interest in private debt markets and a willingness to expand knowledge in this area.
