Civil Engineering & Building Surveyor position in Tuam, Co. Galway

We are looking for suitably qualified candidates to work as part of a small architectural / engineering team. The candidate may either be a Graduate, Graduate with experience or Someone who has experience but wants a new opportunity. The candidate will be expected to be familiar with My Engineer Ltd and the component services that we offer, so it is advisable that you review all of our dedicated websites and understand the various services that we provide.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the following:

  • Work as part of a small focused team, which is dedicated to delivering the services of My Engineer Ltd.
  • Have a good knowledge of the Building Regulations and Planning Law and be able to evaluate buildings, structures and legislation.
  • Have a good knowledge of AutoCAD / Revit and be able to survey and prepare drawings of existing buildings, sites and maps, to a high standard.
  • The Architectural Technologist should be able to prepare 3D renders of buildings etc using REVIT & Lumion.
  • Have a good knowledge of Microsoft Word / Excel and be able to edit and issue technical engineering / surveying reports to a very high standard.
  • The candidate must be fluent in English.
  • They should also know how to conduct a planning search and to negotiate the planning archives of the Planning Authority. They should also know how to prepare a planning application and utilise the new online planning portal.
  • They should be familiar with mapping procedures, surveying and land registry mapping requirements.
  • They should be familiar with preparing drawings for planning applications for domestic retention and some commercial projects.
  • The Applicant should possess a full clean Driver’s Licence and provide their own transport (Mileage will be reimbursed as part of the remuneration package).

We work a full working week in 4-days (8:00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday). You will be expected to be flexible with timing during the working day in order to accommodate work scheduling and working away from the office. Lunch times are flexible, but generally 30 minutes, in order to facilitate the 4-day working week.
