Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Intern to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in cybersecurity, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Monitoring and Incident Response:
- Monitor security tools and systems for potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Assist in the analysis and triage of security incidents.
- Contribute to incident response activities, including documentation and reporting.
- Vulnerability Management:
- Support the identification and assessment of security vulnerabilities in networks, systems, and applications.
- Assist in the implementation of security patches and remediation measures.
- Security Awareness and Training:
- Help develop and deliver security awareness training materials for employees.
- Assist in promoting a culture of security within the organization.
- Research and Analysis:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Conduct research on emerging threats and provide insights to the cybersecurity team.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Assist in maintaining cybersecurity documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident reports.
- Contribute to the preparation of cybersecurity metrics and reports for management.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with other IT and security team members on various cybersecurity projects.
- Provide support for security-related tasks, such as audits, risk assessments, and compliance activities.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, including network security, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, SIEM, antivirus software, and IDS/IPS.
- Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Enthusiasm for learning and staying current with cybersecurity trends.
- Prior experience in cybersecurity through coursework, projects, or other internships is a plus.
