The Programme

The Glanua Graduate Programme is designed for recent graduates beginning their careers in the water and wastewater industry. Through practical experience, structured rotations, mentoring and professional development, you will gain a broad understanding of Glanua's projects, operations and business functions, and how they work together to deliver and maintain essential water infrastructure.

There will be one 12-month in-depth rotation, as well as another two 6-month rotations across other areas of the business. Rotation areas are mapped towards each discipline and for Engineering would cover different stages of a project lifecycle, or for HR, Sustainability, Finance, and Health and Safety would ensure exposure to multiple aspects of that discipline within the business.

Depending on business requirements and suitable opportunities, graduates may have the opportunity to complete one of the six-month rotations in Portugal or the UK. International placements are not guaranteed and will be subject to operational requirements, individual suitability, and any applicable travel or work eligibility requirements.

The Role

As a Graduate, you will work with experienced teams across Glanua, supporting live projects, operational activities, and business functions. You will gain both office- and site-based experience, build an understanding of the municipal and industrial sectors, and take on greater responsibility as your knowledge, skills, and confidence develop.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate fully in each rotation and support the delivery of departmental, project and operational objectives.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the business, contributing to live projects and day-to-day activities.
• Assist with research, analysis, reporting, record-keeping, and process improvement within each assigned function.
• Follow all relevant health, safety, environmental, quality, sustainability, financial, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Take ownership of your learning, maintain accurate development records, and apply feedback to build your professional capabilities.

What We Are Looking For

• A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification, or expected completion before the programme begins.
• A genuine interest in the water and wastewater industry and in contributing to sustainable infrastructure and business operations.
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach, willingness to learn, and flexibility to work across office, site, and rotation locations.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle. Both are essential due to project locations and programme travel requirements.
• Previous experience gained through an internship, work placement, summer role, volunteering, or university project is beneficial but not essential.
