Job Description: As a Junior Quantity Surveyor joining the commercial team you will assist the Regional Director of Operations in the management of the commercial aspects of all projects.

The current workload is exciting and you will be involved at all stages of several high value projects. This is a great opportunity to develop your career, where you will be mentored to ensure you develop the skills required to progress on your career path.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with commercial management of project(s) and reporting to Regional Director of Operations
  • Procurement of Subcontractor Packages
  • Measurement of project elements
  • Preparation of interim valuations and agreement of subcontractor accounts
  • Preparation of variation log and detailed variation costings
  • Attending site meetings as required
  • Prepare standard documentation – reports, valuations, letters, financial reports
  • Prepare tender documents as required by procurement choice
  • Analyse tenders and prepare tender reports at all stages of procurement
  • Prepare valuations and cost reports; re-measure as necessary and adjust variations
  • Assist in the settlement of construction disputes/loss and expense claims
  • Prepare and agree final accounts
  • Perform other duties as may reasonably be required for an intermediate Quantity Surveyor

Experience and Requirements:

  • Must have a Quantity Surveying qualification.
  • Good IT skills with competency using Cubit, Cost-ex or equivalent, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • To have strong analytical skills and ability to present findings.
  • To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate.
  • A willingness to attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • BSc essential in a construction related discipline
