About the RoleZeroOne is a rapidly growing Dublin-based MEP consultancy specialising in the design of mission-critical data centre infrastructure across Europe.
We are looking for Mechanical Graduate Engineers to join our Dublin team in September 2027. This is an opportunity to begin your career working on some of the most technically challenging mechanical engineering problems in the industry, particularly in the areas of cooling, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
As chip power densities continue to increase and data centre cooling systems become more sophisticated, the demand for engineers who understand the underlying thermofluids is growing rapidly. At ZeroOne, you’ll apply your engineering fundamentals to the design of cooling systems for hyperscale, colocation and next-generation AI data centres.
You’ll work alongside experienced mechanical engineers and founding directors, gaining practical experience across the full design process while developing the technical skills needed to build a successful career in specialist mechanical engineering.
What You’ll Be Working On- Supporting the design and delivery of mechanical systems for large-scale data centre projects across the EMEA region.- Developing an understanding of chilled water systems, HVAC, heat rejection, cooling distribution and other critical mechanical infrastructure.- Applying principles of heat transfer, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics to real-world engineering challenges.- Assisting with engineering calculations, equipment selection, system schematics, technical reports and design documentation.- Supporting the development and coordination of mechanical designs using industry-standard software.- Working with senior engineers to understand how complex cooling systems are designed, analysed and delivered.- Gaining exposure to both air-cooled and liquid-cooled data centre technologies, including emerging solutions for high-density computing.- Collaborating with electrical engineers, clients and project teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality designs.- Opportunities to attend project meetings and site visits across Europe as your experience develops.
About YouWe’re particularly interested in candidates who are curious, technically driven and excited by the opportunity to solve complex engineering problems.
Essential:- Currently completing, or recently completed, a degree or master's in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.- Strong academic grounding in thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.- A genuine interest in mechanical systems, cooling technologies and engineering design.- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.- Permanent legal right to live and work in Ireland.
Desirable:- Knowledge or experience of CFD, electronics cooling or thermal management.- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam or other engineering software.- Relevant project, placement, research or university design experience.- An interest in data centres, high-tech facilities or other mission-critical environments.
You do not need to have previous data centre experience. We are primarily looking for strong engineering fundamentals, intellectual curiosity and the motivation to develop into an excellent mechanical design engineer.
