Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team. In this role you will support the management of commercial contracts, client invoicing, pricing activities, and contractual obligations across telecommunications infrastructure projects. This position provides excellent exposure to commercial and contractual processes within a dynamic, fast-growing engineering services business.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and administration of sub-contract and supplier contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support contract pricing, commercial evaluation, and analysis of tender returns.
- Assist in preparing interim valuations, progress claims, client invoices, and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely billing.
- Maintain accurate contract and commercial documentation, including version control, records of correspondence and contractual deliverables.
- Support measurement and quantification activities, including site measurement records and cost analysis.
- Contribute to monthly forecasting, cost tracking, cost-to-complete assessments, and commercial reports.
- Assist with client contract reviews, change-control processes, and resolution of commercial queries.
- Work collaboratively with project delivery teams to understand commercial implications of operational decisions.
- Help maintain internal commercial databases and systems to support reporting and performance tracking.
- Support the Commercial Manager with contract compliance, risk identification, and value optimisation.
- Participate in engagement with internal stakeholders (project teams, finance) to ensure contract requirements are understood and commercial objectives are met.
Skills Required
Qualifications & Skills
- A bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Economics, Commercial Management, or related discipline.
- Working towards relevant professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, CIOB, SCSI) is desirable.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability with attention to detail.
- Good understanding of basic contract principles and construction cost management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Power BI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop commercial skills in a technical / engineering project environment.
