BMS Ireland Science & Engineering Graduate Programme

At Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), we are united by a single vision: transforming patients’ lives through science. The BMS Ireland Graduate Programme offers exceptional graduates an opportunity to launch a rewarding career within one of the world’s leading biopharmaceutical companies. Based at the state-of-the-art Cruiserath Biologics Campus in Dublin, this structured development programme is designed to accelerate personal, technical, and professional growth while providing meaningful exposure to a dynamic and innovative manufacturing environment.

The programme provides graduates with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple business functions while contributing to the development and manufacture of life-changing medicines. Participants will work alongside experienced professionals and industry leaders, gaining valuable insights into the processes, technologies, and systems that support the delivery of innovative therapies to patients globally. The programme is designed to develop future leaders, technical specialists, and business professionals through a combination of practical experience, coaching, mentoring, and formal learning.

The Graduate Programme consists of three rotational assignments, each lasting approximately nine months. Rotations may take place across different departments or within a specialist function, depending on business needs and career development objectives. Potential rotation areas include manufacturing operations, engineering, quality, process automation, supply chain, validation, digital systems, operational excellence, procurement, and technical services. This rotational structure enables graduates to build a broad understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry while developing a diverse and valuable skill set.

Throughout the programme, graduates will receive structured support through mentoring, coaching, and regular engagement activities. The programme follows the 70:20:10 learning model, where development is achieved through practical work experience, networking and coaching opportunities, and formal training. Graduates will also have opportunities to collaborate with senior leaders, participate in cross-functional projects, and develop professional networks across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include supporting operational and technical projects, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, analysing data to support business decisions, and participating in the implementation of innovative solutions that improve performance, compliance, quality, and efficiency. Graduates will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex challenges, support project delivery, and contribute to business objectives. They will be expected to demonstrate initiative, accountability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Successful candidates will be motivated, curious, and eager to learn. Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Computer Systems Validation, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative approach to teamwork are essential. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for innovation, a willingness to embrace new challenges, and a commitment to continuous development. The ability to work independently while building strong working relationships across diverse teams is highly valued.

BMS is committed to creating an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued and employees are empowered to achieve their full potential. Graduates joining the programme will have access to a supportive culture, world-class facilities, and opportunities to contribute to meaningful work that directly impacts patients’ lives. Participants will develop technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership capabilities that will support long-term career success within BMS and the broader biopharmaceutical industry.

The BMS Ireland Graduate Programme offers more than a first job. It provides a foundation for a successful and fulfilling career, combining structured development, meaningful responsibilities, and exposure to cutting-edge science and technology. If you are passionate about innovation, committed to excellence, and motivated to make a difference, this programme offers an outstanding opportunity to begin your professional journey and help transform patients’ lives through science.
