About Us

The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a key Government Commercial Semi-State Body that delivers social and affordable housing on State and other lands. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €3.75 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn

The LDA has commenced construction on various state sourced lands and is currently working on about 20 direct delivery projects that can deliver over 8,000 homes. It is also delivering affordable housing by working with private sector on an initiative called ‘Project Tosaigh’, which will yield a further 5,000 homes on land provided by housebuilders.

Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.

Key Objectives:

Reporting to the Investment Manager, this is a hands-on role that offers significant responsibility and opportunities for the right candidate to advance their career and support the LDA’s delivery ambitions in the delivery of residential housing. The Investment Graduate will work within the LDA’s investment function, whose responsibilities include the development and implementation of the agency’s delivery and funding strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial modelling and commercial analysis of real estate/property development and investment/acquisition opportunities
  • Review and monitoring of existing projects within LDA portfolio. Preparation and presentation of monthly reports and annual review papers to senior management.
  • Contributing to investment papers / recommendations to the appropriate internal delegated authority.
  • Assist in the due diligence of prospective Investment transactions and aid in the monitoring of programme risks and deadlines. Assist in the procurement of commercial service providers to assist in due diligence.
  • Co-ordination and manage funding applications and engage with external stakeholders to facilitate the funding process.
  • Preparation of cash management forecasts and development of KPI report monitoring for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct research on potential investment opportunities, this may involve gathering information from various sources such as industry & CSO publications and market data.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a master’s degree, recent bachelor’s graduate or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree in the fields of business, economics, finance, real estate, accounting or similar
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint, financial modelling experience would be an advantage.
  • Positive and eager attitude with a willingness and curiosity to learn
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with clarity of delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across different functional teams
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload and comfortable in a changing and expanding team environment
