The Position

IT and security audit is an exciting and challenging environment working with clients of different sizes and sectors nationally and internationally.

An IT audit qualification can be used in any country in the world and is the passport to an exciting and rewarding career.

IT and security audit is the set of technical skills that enable you to review the technology that organisations use to determine where weaknesses exist that could be exploited and to provide technical recommendations to reduce risk.

Our IT and security audit training programme provides you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge and audit skills in areas such as IT general controls, AI, IT governance, risk management, cyber security, data privacy, network security, digital forensics and incident response, amongst others.

Associates are also provided the opportunity and support to successfully obtain internationally recognised industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) as well as becoming familiar with a variety of other industry standards.

As organisations are increasingly reliant on technology and as the security landscape in which businesses are forced to operate becomes more and more difficult, the profession of IT audit /security audit is fast becoming one of the most dynamic and exciting disciplines around. A career in IT and security audit can provide graduates from either a computer science/ information technology background or a business background with highly attractive career development opportunities in Ireland and internationally. IT audit qualifications are recognised internationally, providing IT auditors with a unique passport to travel, discovery and personal development.

Job requirements

Our IT Audit Graduate Programme

Successful candidates will be offered a three-year graduate training programme which will provide them with a wealth of opportunity to conduct audit work across a range of IT, security and audit disciplines including external audit, internal audit, security, cyber, risk, investigations, SOC and the emerging discipline of digital trust and AI audit.

The new IT and security audit associates will join a growing team of strong technical audit professionals working on a range of prestigious Irish and international clients. Over the 3 years of the programme, you will develop both your technical IT/security skills and your audit skills, leaving you with a range of exciting career options on completion of your contract, including the option to stay within the Forvis Mazars Group.

You will receive comprehensive training over the course of your training contract including at the Forvis Mazars University, ongoing soft and technical skills training. In year 1 you will pursue the Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) programme, in year 2 the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and in year 3 you can elect to pursue one of a series of options ranging from CRISC, CGEIT, CISSP, Cyber Security Foundation Professional Certificate (CSFPC) or similar.

Principal Requirements

We accept graduate applications from a range of different backgrounds. Whilst a strong academic background is key, what’s more important to us is how you apply yourself to your studies and to the pursuit of knowledge. You may have a background in technology, computer science, engineering, business management, accounting or a related field - but what’s important is that you bring to the firm a willingness to learn and apply your skills in the best way possible. We can teach you the technical and business skills you need- but you also need energy and the right attitude to succeed.

Ideally candidates will have:

  • Fluent English
  • 1 year in a technical role including but not limited to IT operations, IT systems support, infrastructure/network administration

Or

  • A Bachelor’s degree in technology, computer science, engineering, security or a related field or business, accounting or a related field (at least a 2:1) A Master’s degree would be an advantage
