Junior Commissioning Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical)
Iconicx EMEA, formally known as OBMG Ltd. is a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering consultancy that specialise in Data Centre commissioning, Industrial commissioning, and Design. Headquarters is based in Athlone but we were recently (October 2023) acquired by Salute Mission Critical (parent company), a turnkey developer for Data Centres. A core division of the OBMG business is Commissioning management. We provide the role of Commissioning Agents and Commissioning Managers for mission critical facilities, from design stage review to Integrated Systems Commissioning, Client Handover and Seasonal Testing. We have a highly proficient and motivated team with experience in Data Centre Projects from 1MW to 100MW+, concurrent and fault tolerant facilities, new green field sites to working in Live and Operational Facilities. In summary OBMG are the team that determine if a project has achieved the design intent criteria, user requirements and is fit for purpose to move from a construction project to a Live and Operational facility. We operate in locations throughout Ireland and across Europe.
We are looking for Junior mechanical and electrical engineers to join our Data Centre teams. We currently have projects in Dublin and mainland Europe (Sweden/ Belgium/Netherlands/Finland etc).
Graduate Engineers will likely get the opportunity to live and work in a European city or be based in Dublin, depending on project demand. The role will typically involve documentation review, onsite inspections and witnessing of commissioning activities of mission critical systems as part of a Data Centre project. Typical systems that will be inspected/commissioned include medium and low voltage switchgear, UPS systems, generator systems, Chillers, Dry Air Coolers, pumping systems, Air Conditioning systems. We are looking for proactive and enthusiastic engineers who are keen to get involved in large mechanical and electrical biased projects, in the Data Centre industry.

| Ability to witness and understand L1-L3 commissioning Review L1-L3 Scripts and Cx Documentation with supervision Ability to raise and close out IRL issues Full understanding of Cx process e.g. CxPoR or equivalent. Develop Cx reports for your supervisor Attend Cx Meetings Demonstrate understanding of the project specific Cx process Understanding of the project design for the respective discipline – Schematics, Specifications, Sequence of Operations etc. Customer Interface Admin duties such as Timesheets, Expenses, Flight Requests, internal communications. Teamwork – work with colleagues, vendors, contractors, clients in a professional and safe manner. Ensure all Safety Protocols are maintained at all times |
