Candidates should have experience in/knowledge of the following:

  • Review contract documents - e.g. bills of quantities with the client or architect.
  • Working closely with and reporting to the Contracting Director & Senior QS
  • Estimate materials, time and labour costs for projects.
  • Negotiate and analyse costs for tenders and contracts.
  • Coordinate work effort. Manage Risk, Value and Cost Control.
  • Analyse potential and actual outcomes, producing detailed progress reports.
  • Value the finished product and prepare final contract value.
  • Liaising with the team to ensure requirements and specifications are met.
  • Support in the preparation of accurate forecasts of project costs.
  • Prepare monthly interim valuations and ensure approval and certification of interim valuations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent discipline.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a quantity surveyor role on construction/civils projects. (placement)
  • Report and liaise with Senior Surveyor when dealing with internal monthly valuations and costs.
  • Strong time management skills and organisational skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Good IT skills with competency using, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to co-ordinate several different projects at the same time.
  • Strong understanding of the civil/construction industry and working on site.
  • Ability to use time productively.
  • Must have fluent English and be eligible to work in Ireland.
