Junior/Graduate Electrical Engineer
The Junior/Graduate Electrical Engineer will be a key
project role within the Company’s operations, working within the Engineering
Department. The position requires a knowledge of a range of technical roles and
responsibilities carried out by this department. The individual will be involved
in multi-faceted projects involving electrical design (LV & MV), change
management, building compliance, space management and advising on efficient
energy management.
Responsibilities
- Assist in defining project scope including
budgets to ensure projects are fully developed at concept stage - Assist in design and collaborate with other
disciplines to create a construction set of documents and work with regional
vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment - Assist in design of equipment and infrastructure associated with
MV & LV electrical systems - Assist in design of electrical systems associated with life safety
and security systems - Assist in design &
development of control panel layouts, electrical schematics, instrument and
control loop drawings, assembly drawings and bill of materials - Adherence and monitoring of project programmes
to include regular progress tracking - Working with local utilities to understand and
define site utility requirement - Reviewing and approving equipment submittals
- Providing technical support for information
requests prior to, and during construction phases - Involvement in the process for overseeing the
installation of projects on Customer sites, to include all elements of Quality,
Health and Safety and Technical compliance - Working with commissioning teams to properly
test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical
systems - Input into processes for effective management of
all financial and commercial aspects of site related contracts, including
variation orders and related Customer/Sub-contractor negotiations

Profile
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical
Services Design (Level 7/8) - Interested in working towards Chartered Engineer
status - An understanding
of Irish building codes and regulations - An
understanding of the European Electrical Codes - An
understanding of critical LV electrical equipment - Knowledge
of and interest in working with multiple electrical software packages including
- Autocad, Dialux, ElectricalOM, REVIT, IES, etc. - Proficient
in Microsoft Office suite of software including – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
related applications - Be a motivated, highly dependable individual
with solid communication skills, attention to detail, and an ability to
maintain high quality standards - Proactively organises and plans to ensure
optimum resource allocation and project timelines are met - Ability to carry out tasks through exploration,
development and into deployment/construction - Ability to communicate effectively with senior
engineers through design development process, ask questions, allow time for
design reviews and apply learnings - Ability to work on multiple project tasks of
different scale and complexity at any one time - An ability and willingness to think outside of
the box to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with no
impact on quality, reliability or maintainability - Enjoys solving problems, interacting with
customers, suppliers and contractors and eager to maintain strong constructive
relationships.
