Language Camp Counsellor in Bavaria, Germany - Summer 2025

Teach your native language in Germany - with other young and enthusiastic counsellors from all over the world!

'LEOlingo Süd' organise English and French language summer camps for German children in Bavaria, Southern Germany. Our focus is not on teaching the children intense vocabulary and grammar, but rather on concentrating on the children's understanding and speaking of the language with native speakers in a fun environment. Our counsellors are mostly English and French native speakers from all over the world, including the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK.

Every day the counsellors create a varied and exciting programme for the children, allowing them to learn about their counsellor’s country and their culture – from language games, self-written sketches and crafts to national sports and adventure activities like waterskiing, caving and climbing!

Before the summer begins, each counsellor takes part in an intense week-long training session, where they will be taught all the activities from the LEOlingo programme and about how to deal with certain camp situations.

Not only is it rewarding to see the children enjoying the language and learning at the same time, it is also an amazing chance to make lifelong friendships with other young people from across the globe, experience the German culture, and explore the beautiful south of Germany!

CAMP DATES

• 25th July to 12th September 2025, including a compulsory training week (whole period). You need to be available from the beginning for at least six weeks.

YOUR PROFILE

• You are a native-level English-speaker, or French-English bilingual.
• You have experience working at summer camps, or with children between the ages of 7 and 15.
• You are passionate about sharing your language and culture.
• You are a preferably a current student or recent graduate.

YOUR TASKS

• Create and run an exciting and varied weekly programme in English/French.
• Look after a group of approx. 12 children (7-15 years old) per week.
• Teach your language and culture in accordance with the LEOlingo programme.
• Supervise special activities, such as waterskiing, caving, and canoeing.

WE OFFER

• A one-week intensive training week.
• Free board and lodging for the duration of the camps plus accommodation on weekends (worth approximately 250 Euros per week).
• A competitive weekly wage (220-280 Euros per week).
• We help you organise the work permit and cover 50% of the costs (~57 Euros).
• The opportunity for you to develop your teaching and childcare skills at over 10 different camp locations in beautiful Bavaria, southern Germany.
