Prism Engineering Ltd has been designing and manufacturing metal solutions for the office furniture and security sectors for over 35 years. 

We are currently seeking a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career designer to gain hands-on experience and grow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Your Role

  • Assist in designing and developing innovative metal products and components.
  • Create 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor
  • Support prototyping, testing, and refining of design solutions.
  • Learn how to optimise designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality.
  • Get involved in generating CNC programs for press brakes, laser cutters, and punch presses.
  • Help maintain design documentation and ensure quality standards are upheld.
     

Who We’re Looking For

  • A recent graduate or final-year student in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or Industrial Design.
  • Confident using CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and an interest in practical, hands-on design work.
  • A keen eye for detail and a desire to learn how products are made efficiently

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with KeyShot or Adobe Suite.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication or CNC machinery.
  • Interest in materials like wood, glass, and plastics.
