We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist with a strong interest and background in working with older persons with intellectual disabilities, including those living with dementia and age-related conditions such as frailty.
This role combines clinical assessment and intervention with a strong emphasis on healthy ageing and prevention, including dementia care, frailty management, and supporting individuals to maintain independence, function, and quality of life.
The successful candidate will deliver person-centred, evidence-based interventions to individuals with complex needs, while also contributing to approaches that prevent or delay functional decline and promote optimal ageing.

Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must:
- Hold a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Be registered (or eligible for registration) with the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
- Have a minimum of three years’ full-time (or equivalent) post-qualification clinical experience.
- Have experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities.
- Demonstrate experience in the delivery of comprehensive occupational therapy assessment and intervention for individuals with intellectual disability, including:
- Postural management
- Activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Sensory processing
- Mental health
- Behaviour support needs
- Accessible environments
- Have experience working as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and administrative skills.
- Be innovative, flexible, and resourceful, with a strong focus on person-centred practice.
- Hold a full clean driver’s licence (please clearly state on application).
Desirable
- Have experience working with older persons, including frailty and/or frailty prevention.
- Have demonstrated clinical experience in dementia care, ideally within an intellectual disability or related setting.
- Experience in service development, leadership, or supervision of staff/students.
- Experience contributing to quality improvement initiatives or clinical governance.
