Lufthansa Technik Mobile Engine Services Dublin is a subsidiary of
Lufthansa Technik, a worldwide leader in provision of maintenance, repair, and
overhaul services for aircraft, engines, and components. We are belong to the
Engine Services Business Segment and one of 5 Repair Stations, offering the
following services:

1. On-wing repairs - Repairs with the engine mounted on the
aircraft

2. On-site repairs - In cases where a disassembly of the engine
from the wing is required, mobile repairs are offered directly at the
customer’s facility.

3. Repair station - more complex repairs, can be performed at one
of the MES repair stations.

The facility is in a ramp-up phase, having formally opened in
November 2022. It is an excellent
opportunity for Interns to gain exposure to a broad range of activities as the
facility extends its capability and capacity.

Overall Responsibility

The Student Engineer works
under the supervision of another Engineer / Engineering Leader. The
supervisor will assign projects and tasks to the Student Engineer to complete
with support of the supervisor. The Student Engineer will also complete
projects and tasks assigned by other supervisors. The organisation will
endevour to assign to the Student
Engineer a longterm Focus Project to complete
throughout the placement period with the support of relevant supervisors.

Role

Support local Engineering & Production teams to
co-ordinate set up and training activities.

Maintain & update Gannt Product Schedule (more
detailed version of m/plan).

Monitor & follow up on improvement topics
(Jobcard updates, not finalised for MES DUB yet).

Event Support (Shop Finder, Shop Finding Report,
Check Inspection Report, Final Documentation Review & Scanning)

Other Routine Support Activites

Training Grant Administration & Reporting
(IDA).

Digitalisation of processes (Onboarding approvals,
event work logs, equipment checklists)

EHS

-
Monthly risk assessments of chemicals. (Qpulse req.)

Maintain & update chemical database for events.

Review consumable lists before events and ensure
SDS available.

Support in preperation for Quality checks (PAT
Tests, LBA Audits)

Conduct FOD analysis’ to improve quality &
safety of live events.

Mechanics Currency

Maintain and update file & training record for
live events.

Misc. Projects/Tasks

Engine familiarisation through Assembly/Disassembly
projects based off real in house events. (eDoc / AMM req.)

Analysis of fake event findings and propose
recommendations to supervisor to promote PEP critical thinking skills.

Person Specification

Undergraduate in Mechanical / Aeronautical
Engineering.
