Building on more than 50 years of industry experience and a rich legacy, the Athlone facility is an important part of Novo’s global manufacturing network. In March 2026, Novo announced an investment of more than €400 million in the expansion of the Athlone manufacturing facility. The investment is a major strategic milestone for the company and provides significant additional manufacturing capabilities for Novo’sGLP-1 treatments.

Your learning journey begins with getting hands on experience in a dynamic pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. During the programme, you will complete various rotations across a mix of departments including manufacturing, quality, engineering, supply chain, business and IT.

Alongside your rotations, you will take part in custom-built training and development pro-grammes including communication and presentation skills, personal brand, an introduction to leadership, coaching and mentoring, as well as role specific technical training designed to build both your personal and professional development.

Throughout the programme, you will build practical experience, develop new capabilities and gain an understanding of how different teams work together across a leading global healthcare company.

You will work in an encouraging and collaborative environment where colleagues learn from and support one another. The experience will also give you a broad understanding of the different careers within a global healthcare organisation.

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will have developed the professional and personal skills to support the next step in your career journey.

Throughout your rotations you will become part of a team, contributing to projects and activities across the departments you join.

Your work will include participation in department initiatives, supporting cross functional teams and contributing to project delivery. You will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary professionals across the Athlone site and globally across Novo.
