Facilities

Our students enjoy exceptional teaching and learning resources, and our research facilities are among the best in Ireland. DCU is home to leading research centres in areas such as educational assessment and evaluation, bullying prevention and human rights, cellular biotechnology, neurotherapeutics, sensors, plasma technology, biomedical diagnostics, machine translation, cloud computing and data analysis.

Funding

Masters Reduced Fee Scheme for 2024/2025

DCU is delighted to extend it’s 10% Masters Reduced Fee Scheme exclusive to DCU graduates and outgoing final year students with a Bachelor and/or a Masters degree from the university. It applies to any full time or part time taught Masters Programme for the 2022/23 academic year. For further information, click HERE .

Postgraduate students can continue their Higher Education Grant or apply for one if they satisfy the necessary requirements. For more information on maintenance grants, click here .

Research Councils are a major source of financial support for EU students wishing to register for postgraduate research degrees – however, funding for certain taught programmes is occasionally available. For more information, click here .

Employer Sponsorship

Some students have taken the route into a postgraduate degree by getting sponsorship from their employer. This can come in many different forms from flexible employment arrangements to covering some of the costs of a degree. International Students

Whether you are from Ireland, the EU or further afield, here at DCU you’ll be living and working with people from all over the world. Over 1,000 of our taught and research postgraduate students are international, from 95 different countries.

DCU International Merit Scholarships

DCU offers a number of Merit Scholarships to International Students from NON EU countries. The Scholarship Programme is funded by DCU International Office and aims to attract high achieving global applicants normally liable for Full NON EU fees. Full Degree Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught Programme / High achieving applicants will automatically be considered for Scholarships worth up to €2000 on application. Find out more here

DCU Non-EU Study Abroad / Exchange Returning Masters Scholarships​

Any returning Study Abroad or Exchange student applying to DCU One Year Taught Masters Programmes as a NON EU student are automatically eligible for a €2,000 tuition fee scholarship off the NON EU Fee only (self-funding students only). Find out more here

Students studying at DCU at Full Undergraduate Bachelor Programmes wishing to progress onto One Year Taught Masters Programmes upon graduation may be eligible for EU fees for their One Year Masters Programmes. Research

DCU is a dynamic university - conducting intensive research activity in a number of areas where society faces global challenges, and focusing on translating its results into outputs for societal and economic benefits. The DCU research environment is highly collaborative, not only among its five faculties, but nationally and internationally.
