Communications Intern 2025–26 (FTC 16 months)
Internship
The Role
We are inviting applications for an intern to join our Communications team starting in early July 2025 and finishing in late October 2026.
The Communications team plays a crucial role in supporting the IfG’s activities by helping us to share our research and recommendations with as wide an audience as possible. Covering everything from marketing and digital content to events delivery and editorial oversight for our publications, the team works across the organisation, with all research teams, the partnerships and operations teams, and with senior management and leadership. They help sharpen our messages, build and maintain relations with key media outlets, and promote IfG content.
As a Communications Intern you will support the rest of the Communications team, particularly in its digital content functions but also in its events responsibilities.
Main tasks will include:
- Proof-reading, updating and uploading content to the IfG’s website.
- Editing A/V content for use on social media.
- Scheduling social media coverage of the IfG’s work.
- Taking responsibility for media tracking and weekly media round-ups.
- Supporting the organisation and delivery of events, including the IfG’s party conference programme.
For full details, including a person specification, please read the job application pack available on our website. We encourage all applicants to read the job pack before starting their application.
If you are interested in this role but are not sure you have all the skills we’re looking for, please do apply and give us the chance to consider you as a candidate.
The IfG is committed to supporting greater diversity and inclusion within our workforce, and to fostering an environment in which everyone feels welcome, supported and valued. We welcome applications from anyone who is interested in government and how to make it more effective, and particularly encourage applications from candidates who belong to groups currently underrepresented in the think-tank sector. This includes but is not limited to Black, Asian and ethnically diverse candidates, disabled candidates, and candidates from low-income backgrounds.
Interviews
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online interview, and may be asked to complete a short task in advance.
Interviews will be held on w/c 24 March 2025.
