We are actively involved in developing and promoting the effective use of technology in the classroom both in Ireland and throughout Europe. Our approach of Project-Based, Technology Enhanced Learning means that students work together to complete projects through English, using technology where it can help them in reaching their objective.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Engineering workshop leader to join our summer programme team. In this role, you will be delivering engaging and practical workshops to international young learner students. We need someone who is confident working with a group of up to 25 persons, can maintain a functioning and fully thriving environment with such and who has a solid backgroung/experience with engineering.

Location: Athlone Summer center - TUS
Dates of the programme: 30th June – 25th July (4 weeks)

Learners’ Age & Levels: Ages 12–17, levels A2–B2 (Pre-Intermediate to Upper-Intermediate).

Schedule: Monday to Friday 13:45-16:45 (3h per workshop) - 3 to 5 afternoons per week

Salary: 52 euros per afternoon workshop (including holiday pay)*

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all materials and plans for the workshops are prepared and ready for implementation, and that the educational space assigned to is set-up in an appropriate way for the group
  • To deliver engaging and dynamic workshops across a range of levels to international young learner students.
  • Lead and manage groups of up to 24 students during activities, ensuring that everyone is involved, engaged, and adhering to the rules.
  • Encourage the students to use English in a fun and supportive environment, enhancing their language skills.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3 months experience tutoring / mentoring young learners or young adult in an educational context
  • Skills: Tech savvy, dynamic, group management, expertise in Engineering
  • Location: Must reliably commute to or plan to be based near location before the start date
  • Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in Ireland (EU citizenship or valid work/residency permit)
