Our company has rapidly grown due to the investment in the latest 3D Laser technology, as such we are looking for enthusiastic individuals who would like to gain practical experience and knowledge from industry experts over the summer months.
We are now looking to recruit 2nd or 3rd Year Engineers for work experience for our day and evening shifts. Day Shift: 8.00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Thursday & 8.00 am - 3:30 pm on Fridays. Evening Shift: 4.00 pm - 12:30 am, Monday to Thursday & 3.00 pm - 10.30 pm on Fridays.
Job Description:
Role: During the work experience you will be part of a production team who manufacture various products using our precision profiling laser cutting machines. You will have ongoing interaction with our engineering team and contribute significantly to these processes through the provision of practical engineering services and supports aligned to the company’s business development goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce precision components from engineering drawing using Laser cutting machines.
• Liaising with the Nesting Engineering Team to ensure accuracy of the order.
• Create, load and modify CNC programs on brand new industry leading laser cutting machines.
• Carrying out inspection of goods for compliance to customer specification.
• Pack all components in a safe and secure manner.
• Preparing all shipping documentation and labelling prior to delivery. • Conduct scheduled machine cleaning and maintenance.
• Loading and off-loading of Stainless & Mild Steel material. • Operate secondary tools (angle grinders, polishing and mitre saw etc) as required. • Collaborate with other engineers and management in identifying and resolve customer issues. • Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy. Skills /Experience: • Computer literacy essential. • Ability to understand and interpret 2D & 3D Auto Cad drawing.
• Comfortable using engineering measuring instruments.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Mechanically minded with experience in machine maintenance an advantage.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Fluent English essential with good written and verbal communication.
Personal Attributes:
• Physically fit to work in an environment that involves continuous lifting/moving of Stainless & Mild sheets and components (approx. 25 Kg’s).
• Possess a strong work ethic with a "can do” attitude.
• Be highly motivated with the ability to work well as part of a team.
