With the Bord Bia Talent Academy Global Business Development Programme, you will earn a fully funded MSc International Marketing Practice alongside gaining international experience with Irish food and drink companies. This programme combines academic learning from the leading UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School with practical experience overseas undertaking projects with Irish food, drink, and horticulture clients assisting in their export development.
What is involved:
Our Global Business Development Fellows gain extensive academic learning and practical experience in sustainability, consumer insights, export development, marketing and branding, innovation and more. Modules are delivered alongside your overseas projects, meaning you can put theory into practice and compliment the classroom learning working on real-world projects for your 2-3 assigned Irish food, drink, or horticulture clients.
This programme has outstanding international opportunities, giving you the opportunity to live and work in cities such as New York, Tokyo, Paris, London, Shanghai, Dubai, Singapore to name a few.
Whilst on the programme, you will be working on projects in your assigned market involving export development, marketing activation, attending trade shows, meeting with buyers, undertaking consumer research, assisting with business development and sales activities, and much more.
What we offer:
- All tuition fees covered for a MSc International Marketing Practice with UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
- A generous scholarship bursary, between €2,300 - €2,600 paid to you monthly (amount dependent on your assigned location on the programme).
- Extensive career development focus on the programme with career coaching and a CV booklet shared with industry at the end of the programme.
What we look for:
- We have a passion for the food, drink and horticulture industry, so if you feel the same and would like to build your career in the industry, you’ve found the right programme for you.
- You will be given real responsibility whilst on the programme undertaking projects for Irish food and drinks businesses, so we look for individuals with at least 2 years of professional commercial experience.
- This programme has international placements and while there are plenty of opportunities if you have no second language, if you happen to speak any second language like French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, or Mandarin Chinese, we would love to hear from you.
- Our GBD Fellows undertake an MSc International Marketing Practice, this means you must have obtained a minimum 2.1 in a Level 8 Degree (of any discipline) to be eligible for the programme.

Those with an interest in the food industry, sustainability, marketing, business development, sales, or international opportunities.
