Role Title: Software Engineer Intern
Location: 15 Blanchardstown, Corporate Park 2, Dublin 15
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working, You will work 10 days each month: every Tuesday and Wednesday onsite (8 days total), plus the Monday and Thursday of one "Spike Week" per month (+2 days).
Duration: 6 month graduate internship

Product Development Operations

What will I be doing?
Guidewire is offering a 6-month Guidewire Basecamp internship program from June through November 2025, this program is designed to give recent new graduates an opportunity to work in a real-world business environment. Learn how to interact with customers, solve complex problems, and help create software that is used by some of the largest Insurance companies in the world. The Product Development teams build our next generation of Cloud-based solutions using cutting-edge technology and Agile teams.
Intern Requirements:
● Recent graduate or current student studying a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent I.T course
● Understanding of programming skills and grounding in Java, Kotlin C# or C++
● Proficient object-oriented design using proven design principles
● Software development lifecycle exposure (Agile) preferred
● Knowledge of Backend technologies – RESTful API concepts, Microservices
● An understanding of JavaScript is a bonus
● Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies
● Good communication skills, comfortable to speak your mind and defend ideas based on merit
● In person meetings and meetings virtually on Zoom, writing emails and presenting as part of the global intern programme.
● A proactive and collaborative mindset
● Active participation in Guidewire Basecamp intern program
Physical Environment and Movements
● Desk based role, sitting using computer.
● Open plan office with hot desk arrangement in place
● Office is located on first floor with lifts available throughout the building.
● Kitchenette and bathrooms located on the fifth floor with main canteen area in the building.

The Recruitment Process:
Recruitment for this role will be a three-part process as follows:
(1) A brief Recruiter Call
- The aim of this call is to assess suitability for the internship position (either PDO or GSC) and to ensure a good match between your skills (both technical and soft skills), your qualifications, and your motivation/ interest.
(2) An in-person Cultural /Hiring Manager Interview (45 mins)
- This is a behavioural / competency-based interview which will address your motivations for the intern role and a role at Guidewire, discuss your previous technical projects and your passions for technology.
(3) An in-person Technical Interview (1 hour)
- The aim of this technical task is to assess your approach to technical problem solving.
- During the task you will work collaboratively with the interview to write and solve a problem in Java or Python
- During the task you are encouraged to speak out loud and talk through how you are solving the problem and your solutions.
