IT Support at Mardyke Arena UCC will play a key role in analysing business processes, identifying technology solutions, and supporting digital transformation initiatives within the Arena.
The role will focus on gathering requirements, improving system efficiencies, and ensuring that IT services align with institutional objectives and UCC IT policies.
This role will involve close collaboration with UCC IT Services to ensure that Mardyke Arena’s digital systems, cybersecurity policies, and IT governance align with UCC’s strategic IT framework.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Solution Design
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to collect business, functional, and technical requirements
- Translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable specifications for developers and vendors
- Ensure alignment with cybersecurity, data protection (GDPR), and University IT policies
Project Implementation & Support
- Assist in planning, testing, and deploying new systems or enhancements
- Collaborate with internal staff, university IT teams, and third-party providers throughout project delivery
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT), go-live activities, and post-implementation reviews
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse operational data to inform decision-making and monitor performance
- Develop dashboards and reports (e.g., using Power BI, Excel, or similar tools)
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and security of data in line with GDPR and institutional policy
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as liaison between company staff, university IT services, and external vendors
- Provide training and support to end users on new digital tools
- Communicate system changes and updates in a clear and structured manner
Compliance & IT Governance
- Ensure systems comply with cybersecurity, GDPR, and internal data policies
- Contribute to quality assurance and risk management processes related to IT systems
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in a Business Analyst or IT project support role
- Proven ability to gather and document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with project methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or PRINCE2
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in a university, sports/leisure, hospitality, or public sector environment
- Knowledge of ERP, CRM, facility booking systems, or digital access control solutions
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA) or Project Management (PRINCE2, PMP, Agile)
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
