Junior Estimator
The Company –
conceptcsi is
a client-oriented commercial General Contractor and Construction Management
firm based in New York City, with over 30 years of national and international
experience. We specialize in corporate interiors, critical infrastructure, and
data centers, servicing select clients through a renowned boutique service. We
are seeking a well-rounded, experienced, qualified Head of Estimating to join
our growing team.
Responsibilities –
Reporting directly to the Head
of Estimating, your remit will include but not limited to the following:
·
Support the estimating team by performing
accurate material takeoffs, cost breakdowns, and preparation of detailed bid
proposals
·
Analyze drawings, specifications, and project
documentation to fully understand scope and requirements, identifying
discrepancies and clarifying uncertainties
·
Assist in soliciting and evaluating
subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring pricing accuracy and comprehensive
scope coverage
·
Utilize estimating tools and software,
including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and Procore, to compile data and
maintain organized bid records and cost databases
·
Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings
to gain firsthand knowledge of project conditions and contribute to accurate
estimates
·
Collaborate with Senior Estimators and Project Managers
to develop competitive bids and identify cost-saving opportunities through
value engineering
·
Maintain current knowledge of construction
costs, labor rates, and market conditions to support accurate and competitive
pricing strategies
·
Ensure all estimating documentation, bid logs,
and cost records are properly organized and compliant with company standards
·
Demonstrate initiative by seeking opportunities
to improve estimating processes and enhance technical knowledge through
mentorship and on-the-job learning
Requirements –
·
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying,
Engineering or related field.
·
Ability to determine, create and maintain
construction schedules in Microsoft Project
·
Capable of managing multiple tasks under
pressure and thriving
·
Computer proficiency: Excel, Outlook, Microsoft
Project & Procore. Timberline a plus
·
Work experience or internship experience in the
construction industry would be beneficial
