Overview of the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Grants Engineer to support the identification, preparation, and administration of grant funding applications for energy and sustainability projects. This role is suitable for a placement student or early-career graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in renewable energy funding, sustainability programmes, and technical project support.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and commercial teams to assist in securing funding for decarbonisation, renewable energy, and energy efficiency initiatives.

The Role:

  • Assist in identifying relevant national and EU funding schemes for energy and sustainability projects.

  • Support the preparation and submission of grant applications and supporting technical documentation.

  • Gather technical and financial data required for funding applications, including energy calculations and project summaries.

  • Liaise with engineering teams to compile specifications, performance metrics, and supporting evidence.

  • Ensure documentation meets funding eligibility criteria and submission requirements.

  • Maintain organised records of applications, deadlines, approvals, and reporting obligations.

  • Support post-award grant administration, including progress tracking and compliance documentation.

  • Monitor upcoming funding calls and sustainability initiatives relevant to clients and internal projects.



Required Skills and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Sustainability, or a related discipline.

  • Strong interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and climate action initiatives.

  • Interest in grant funding processes, public funding programmes, and sustainability policy.

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good written communication skills and willingness to develop technical writing abilities.

  • Basic understanding of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Organised, proactive, and eager to learn within a fast-paced engineering environment.
