About Us

Aughinish Alumina, situated on a 1,300 acre site on the Shannon Estuary, is one of the leading industrial plants in Ireland. The Role

You will provide a routine laboratory analytical service to the plant for the purpose of process and quality control. Working as part of a busy laboratory team this position will provide you with the opportunity to train and work on a wide range of analytical techniques. The successful candidate (following a period of training) will be responsible for the preparation; analysis and reporting of day-to-day process control and production samples.

The Analyst role must demonstrate flexibility about types of work and shift patterns.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform unbiased sampling and sample preparation
  • Perform accurate and reproducible chemical and physical analyses of process and shipment samples
  • Carry out appropriate QC and QA checks
  • Report results in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintain analytical equipment for optimum performance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the laboratory’s safety, 5S and housekeeping standards
  • Flexibility will be required as other duties outside those described above may be assigned from time to time

Interested? To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A degree in chemistry or related discipline.
  • Experience working in an analytical laboratory would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work safely
  • Enthusiastic and energetic with the ability to integrate quickly into a team environment and work on own initiative
