Electronics Engineer (Manufacturing Systems & NPI)

Working with the engineering team and across all functions of the company, we are seeking an experienced engineer to lead manufacturing systems development and NPI projects in our full service, manufacturing and new product introduction company based in Galway.
The successful candidate will work alongside other engineers and manufacturing team members specialising in electronics assembly for the Medical Electronics, ICT and Automotive sectors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Interface with Customers for ideal Test equipment/program set up.
- Work with customers on NPI projects to improve manufacturability and complete NPI projects to schedule.
- Incorporate Continuous Improvement activity based on Business objectives and current cost reduction goals.
- Prepare assembly documentation and work instructions.
- Train Operatives in assembly procedures.
- Support the Maintenance Team in designing planned maintenance routines necessary for all of the Assembly Line equipment, and, as required, perform critical Engineering Maintenance tasks.
- Provide technical support to production.
- Implement process controls such as FMEA and Control plan as part of the Change Management process
- Adhere fully to all health and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
- Maintain the designated place of work in a clean and tidy state at all times and ensure all housekeeping requirements are met.
- Support the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) function and agenda within the business.
- Participate in improvement projects and other reasonable tasks as outlined by the supervisor/manager
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with engineering bill of materials and drawings.
- Flexibility to undertake overtime or working on the weekends according to business needs
- Demonstrable Electronic Troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to read and understand electronic circuit designs and schematics.
- Excellent multitasking and project management skills.
- Appointment to this role is subject to the candidates eligibility to work full time hours in Ireland.
Education/Experience
- NFQ level 7/8 is preferred with specialism in Electronics.
- At least 4 years’ experience in an Electronic Engineering manufacturing environment.
