The opportunity

Multihog is expanding its Engineering Department to support an exciting pipeline of new machines while continuing to improve our established product range. Our goal is straightforward: develop practical, robust and innovative machines that keep us ahead of the competition.

We are hiring both Mechanical Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers, from graduate level upwards. Years of experience matter less to us than attitude, ability and potential. We want intelligent, motivated people who enjoy solving problems, learn quickly and take pride in turning good ideas into reliable machines and efficient production solutions.

What you will do

  •  Design mechanical components, assemblies and systems for new machine development projects.
  • Create and maintain accurate 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials.
  • Support projects from early concept and design review through prototype build, testing, release and production.
  • Work closely with Production, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Service, Quality and suppliers to deliver practical solutions.
  • Improve existing machines for reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, performance and cost.
  • Investigate production and field issues, identify root causes and implement robust corrective actions.
  • Apply Design for Manufacture and Assembly principles to reduce complexity, waste, rework and build time.
  • Develop or improve jigs, fixtures, work instructions, processes and production layouts where relevant.
  • Take part in prototype builds and hands-on testing, learning directly from the workshop and the machines.
  • Communicate clearly, own actions and contribute constructively during design and project reviews.

What we are looking for

  • A degree, diploma or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, Agricultural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A genuine passion for engineering, CAD, machines, manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, quick thinking and sound engineering judgement.
  • A practical mindset and an interest in understanding how parts are made, assembled, tested and serviced.
  • The ability to work well within a team while also taking ownership of individual tasks.
  • Honesty, reliability, attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • The confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions respectfully and admit when more information is needed.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

CAD and technical experience

We use Creo, but Creo experience is not essential. Experience with any professional 3D CAD system, including SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, Siemens NX or similar, is valuable. We are interested in how you think and design, not only which software you have used.

  • 3D part and assembly modelling, including large or complex assemblies.
  • Production of clear 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings.
  • Understanding of tolerances, fits, GD&T, materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Exposure to sheet metal, weldments, machining, castings, plastics, hydraulics, electrical integration or mobile machinery.
  • Experience with PLM/PDM, engineering change control, BOM management, DFM/DFA, FMEA, testing or validation.

The type of person who will thrive here

We are looking for straightforward, credible engineers who contribute rather than posture. You do not need to know everything, but you should be willing to find out, test your thinking and follow problems through to a practical solution.

  • You enjoy solving real problems and seeing your work become a physical product.
  • You are curious, resourceful and willing to learn from experienced colleagues and production teams.
  • You can move quickly without losing discipline or attention to detail.
  • You speak honestly about risks, mistakes and unknowns, and you avoid jargon or overclaiming.
  • You are happy to spend time at the machine, in the workshop and with the people building and supporting the product.
  • You bring ideas, listen to others and help the wider team succeed.

Practical interests are a real advantage

We value people who build, repair, improve or experiment with things because they genuinely enjoy engineering. Relevant interests might include motorsport, vehicle restoration, farming or agricultural machinery, fabrication, 3D printing, robotics, Formula Student, DIY projects, electronics, coding or workshop activities. These are not requirements, but they can demonstrate the curiosity and practical judgement that suit our environment.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary of €35,000 - €45,000 depending on experience and capability.
  • Company pension after successful completion of probation.
  • Friday finish at 15:30.
  • A growing Engineering Department with a strong pipeline of new machine programmes.
  • Varied work across new product development and continuous improvement of current machines.
  • Exposure to the full product lifecycle, from an initial idea through design, build, test, production and field support.
  • The opportunity to work on complete machines and make a visible contribution to products used internationally.
  • Support from an experienced, multidisciplinary team and opportunities to grow your technical responsibility.

Why join Multihog?

This is a chance to work on real machines, solve practical engineering challenges and influence the next generation of Multihog products. Your work will not disappear into a small corner of a long programme. You will see the result, work directly with the people who build and support it, and help ensure our current and future machines remain competitive.
