Job Description

Due to continued expansion in Jones Engineering we require a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our team . This would suit you if you are open to working and studying a degree in Quantity Surveying part-time. We would ideally like you to be available 3 or 4 days a week and provide a good structure for you to work and study simultaneously. We are open to students who are part-way through their studies and we will provide support during your studies to ensure you are on track to get your qualification. The projects involve the construction of new Data Centre and Biopharma facilities, Healthcare, residential and commercial developments.

Responsibilities

To provide support to Construction Team and Senior Quantity Surveyor on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:

  • Tracking Costs and Hours of all Labour Hire Subcontractors.
  • Tracking Costs and Hours of all Subcontracted Prelim Staff.
  • Assist the Senior QS with the preparation of Commercial Reports.
  • Maintain all Commercial Registers.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
  • Assist the Senior QS with monthly progress applications.
  • All other duties associated with this role.

Skills/ Requirements

  • Working towards your studies in Quantity Surveying
  • Interest in the construction industry
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Excellent IT Skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
