Job Description: 

Ocuco is offering an exciting opportunity for a talented engineer with an IT-related degree to join our Global Operations team as a Professional Services Engineer, supporting our customer base. 

The successful candidate will develop a deep understanding of our software and use their technical ability to provide excellent technical support to our customers. From small independent opticians to large globally recognised retail chains, candidates will encounter evolving challenges, which require both technical and real-world problem-solving skills. This position is a great entryway into a software company where energy and talent are rewarded. This is a full-time, permanent position with excellent progression opportunities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide our customers with excellent technical support over the phone, email and remote links;
  • Install and configure our software on customers’ sites to align with their business processes;
  • Troubleshooting issues remotely and escalating as appropriate;
  • Remote Customer training, with a potential for on-site/international training;
  • Development of Ocuco training courses and documentation using best practice procedures, methodologies and tools

The successful candidate must have:

  • A degree in IT / Computer Science or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills and perfect fluency in English
  • Previous experience working in a multicultural and dynamic work environment
  • Ability to acquire new technical information quickly
  • A positive attitude that always gets the job done
  • Attention to detail and perfectionist instincts that get the job done right, first time

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Experience in software training, technical support or in another IT area
  • Previous experience in a similar role providing Level 2+ support for complex applications
  • Knowledge of the optical industry
  • Experience in Multimedia Design / Technical Writing Ability
  • Skills in another European language
  • Experience with databases & SQL
  • A full, clean driving licence
