PURPOSE OF ROLE

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Research, Development, Support and Growth of our Detergent and Water Treatment product formulations.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop new product formulations to support our customers, in line with Industry and ISO standards.
  • Constantly strive to improve our existing formulations backed by research, testing, recording, and reporting, in an efficient and thorough manner.
  • Aim to develop the laboratory and its analytical capabilities.
  • Responsibility for championing and driving our sustainability/green product initiatives relating to our product formulations.
  • Involved in the full lifecycle from research and development through to Customer on site trials.
  • Involvement at tender stage with new and existing Customers, as and when required.
  • Work in accordance with the central Lab Quality Management system and ensure compliance with ISO 17025 quality standards.
  • Have a proactive approach to assisting in the development of the laboratory and SOPs in preparation for external third party and / or customer audits and play an active role in such audits.
  • Involvement in driving the initiative to develop a new R&D database.
  • Identify and make recommendations for improvements as part of the team within or outside the department to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support all other on-going laboratory functions within the QC, Bacteriological and Chemical labs.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and paperwork in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Maintain high level of housekeeping and hygiene within the laboratory.
  • Support and comply with safety and compliance initiatives on site.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 3rd level qualification in a Chemistry discipline, essential.
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years’ Industry experience, essential
  • Previous experience working in Detergent Formulations and /or Water Treatment Chemicals, a distinct advantage.
  • Proven experience working in Research and Development, desirable.
  • Solid core Chemistry skills, essential.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 17025 & 9001, desirable
  • Experience with Analytical instrumentation such as UV-VIS spectroscopy, Ion Chromatography etc
  • Good IT Skills, with working knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Valid Irish Working Permit
