Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Customer Care
  • Delivering front counter service to students in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Supporting the administration of Societies Finances
  • Assisting with queries, both in person and via phone or email & facilitating the delivery of all services from UCC Societies Reception
  • Working with the Societies Portal to deliver the following services:
    • Database management
    • Facilitating all societies bookings, including room, equipment & vehicle bookings
    • Answering queries regarding payments
  • Other duties as assigned by the Societies Officer
  • Updating the UCC Societies website.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Must be a current student of University College Cork
  • The ability to self-direct and show initiative in all your work
  • Excellent communication & time management skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • ‘Can-Do’ attitude
  • A desire to learn
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Knowledge of Google drive & Gmail

Desirable

  • Previous Reception experience
  • An interest in the behind-the-scenes workings of UCC Societies
  • Knowledge of Canva, social media marketing & graphic design

The position:

The successful candidate will be working with over 110 student-led societies and will be based in the Clubs and Societies Space upstairs in the Hub.

This is a paid position. The rate of pay is €13.25 per hour in line with UCC Pay Policy for Student Help.

The position is generally term time for approx. between 6-10 hours per week, Mon – Fri (9am-5pm). Additional hours may be available from time to time
