WFirst Insight Day
WFirst is a one day programme for first and second year students which provides you with an insight into life at a premier corporate law firm. As a participant on the programme you will benefit from:
- Participation in an interactive professional development skills session.
- An overview of intern, placement & trainee programmes and what we are looking for.
- Top tips to boost your CV with our application & interview masterclass.
- A taste of life as a trainee through work shadowing & a panel discussion.
- Networking opportunities with legal professionals, HR & Professional Development team member.

Trainee Solicitor Programme
Our traineeship will provide you with a structured programme designed to build your knowledge and experience over a 33-month programme.
Trainees at William Fry will be given a high level of responsibility within an environment that encourages and supports you as you reach the highest professional standards and develop both your technical skills and commercial instincts. You will be supported along your journey by our Professional Development, Knowledge and Library teams. Mentored by our partners, there will be plenty of opportunities to shine and to show you want to become a leading lawyer.
From the outset you will be working for high profile clients as a member of a team where each individual's contribution is valued and encouraged. Our open door friendly approach fosters learning and collaboration. It is a proven recipe for high achievement and makes for an exciting trainee experience.

Legal Summer Intern Programme
William Fry's three week in person legal internship will equip you with professional skills and experience to increase your employability. For the duration of the programme interns will be working in one of our legal departments and assigned to a buddy & mentor to ensure you are fully supported. Interns will be fully immersed in department work while receiving formal training and mentoring, to empower you to get the most from the opportunity. The internship will provide opportunities to get involved in CSR activities, network with our people across the firm, and socialise with your fellow interns. At the end of the programme there is a chance for interns to be considered for a traineeship, with all interns being provided an option to interview for a training contract.

Tax Summer Intern Programme
William Fry's tax department forms part of the Taxand Group, the world's largest organisation of tax advisors to multinational businesses. The William Fry Tax department is, exclusively, Taxand Ireland. The team brings together tax lawyers, accountants and consultants in one highly innovative group. The team work with domestic and international corporations, entrepreneurs, trusts, and high net worth individuals.
The eight week in person tax internship offers an immersive, fun and challenging programme to students interested in pursuing a career in tax & accountancy.
This internship is the first step on your career path for qualifying as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland and the Institute of Taxation of Ireland.

Student Placement Programme
A placement with William Fry will equip you with the legal skills and commercial acumen to pursue a career in law. For the duration of your placement, you will be assigned to one team with a supervising partner and a trainee buddy, ensuring you are fully supported throughout your placement. You will be fully immersed in client work whilst receiving formal training and mentoring, to empower you to get the most from the opportunity. Placements are open to any student studying a course that offers a placement, and the duration will depend on the requirements of your university and course. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview, and applications and enquiries should be made via your university placements officer.

DiversiFRY
diversiFry is William Fry’s staff support network. The aim is to celebrate diversity and promote inclusion within the firm.
We have a steering committee made up of staff volunteers from across the firm who work together with our HR and Learning & Development teams to provide staff with workshops and seminars aimed at increasing inclusivity as well as development opportunities and policies that support people achieving their full potential.
