Design & Construction Graduate

The role 

The Apto Design and Construction team is responsible for site selection, data centre design and construction, and handover to our customer and internal operations team.  

The role will facilitate cross functional collaboration with design, preconstruction, environmental, health and safety,  construction, and operation teams and the wider Apto business functions. The role includes working with the internal design team to create safe, sustainable, secure, and cost effective designs for each location.  

You will be working with the commercial and preconstruction teams – creating and updating construction schedules, validating construction estimates, monitoring cost performance metrics, and supporting the management of external consultants and vendors, including running tenders and awarding contracts to both general contractors and equipment suppliers, assisting  the safe development of data centers and substations with our construction team and close out of final vendor accounts.  

As a graduate in the D&C team, you will support the D&C Team with all of the above. You will also have the unique opportunity to specialise in a specific  part of the D&C Team that aligns best with your specific interests and strengths. In addition you will: 

• Work with a group of tenured data centre professionals every day.
• Develop your skills via on-the-job training plus professionally certified courses including but not limited to Electrical and Mechanical systems, Project Management, Health, and Safety, etc.
• Contribute to the full life cycle of data centre development across Europe from site selection, through design, construction and finally operations.
• Get the opportunity to experience all areas of the business such as Finance, Sales, and Strategy. 

About You  

• A future or recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree or higher in construction management, architecture, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, building services, civil engineering, or equivalent qualification.

Location 

Baggot Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland. Office based at least three days per week. Opportunity to travel across Europe to visit data centre campuses.
